I have now so far in the past couple of weeks received numerous letters from 1st credit. These letters have been notification of assignment, and letters off 1st credit asking me to contact them to discharge the debt. 1st Credit purchased the debt in 2008.
What does the discharge of debt part mean please?

Hi,
Couple of questions :
(1) Have you ever been bankrupt ?
And was this debt included in that Bankrupcy ?
(2) If not, have you made any payment to this debt or acknowledged it in writing since 2008 ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. The term is usually used to describe a release of liability for certain unsecured debt obligations resulting from a bankruptcy court order or a creditor by agreement with a debtor. Court ordered discharges renders the debt as unenforceable against the debtor.
That's why I asked if you'd ever been bankrupt.
What exactly does the letter say ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I keep getting the same 2 letters off them over and over again! The actual one off 1st credit says they purchased the debt in 2008 and to contact them to discharge the debt. Thats what I can remember anyway, as I have chucked them in the bin, as I thought they are nust wanting me to contact them!0
