Nationwide early repayment charges

Apparently Nationwide said that I could incur EPC if my sale and purchase don't happen on the same day. Now I know most do happen on the same day but this could cost a lot of money if it didn't if I am right in thinking ?.
My Fixed rate Mortgage runs out at the End of July with Nationwide. I was hoping to fix for another 3 years and then port it when we move which we are hoping will be August/September. I am confused at what is the best thing to do here.
Should I fix again and then try and Port when we move?
Or should I go onto Nationwide Standard rate paying an extra £80 a month and then Fix when I know we are moving?
I need a decision in principle for my purchase estate agent but I am confused at what to do.

If they don't happen on the same day, where are you going to live?0

I want to stay with Nationwide but the blurb is confusing on the phone but I need mortgage proof for the estate agent for my Purchase. I am not borrowing anymore money but want to port the mortgage when we move. They said this could be done but if the sale and purchase did not go through on the same day that I would have to pay EPC. So I was a little concerned to continue on the phone to get the Mortgage in principle over the phone.0

Is it such a problem completing on both on the same day?
Also, do you mean ERC?0 -
Most people complete/move on the same day. Do you think you wont be?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. As above , you are extremely unlucky if completion does not happenEx forum ambassador
