Harassment durin sick leave??

After being off work for 6 weeks it's not at all unreasonable for your employer to want to discuss the matter with you. Them offering to come to your house is a bonus in your circumstances. If you refuse, or try and avoid a discussion, then it will probably go against you.
I honestly think you've taken the wrong approach here with talk of harassment. Just talk to them and you can sort it out between you. Avoiding a meeting makes it look like you've got something to hide. If they are looking to offer you alternative employment I would take that as a positive sign. A point blank refusal to meet makes you sound unreasonable.0 -
It is the way the owners choose to rum their company. I have a heart condition, that requires time off for tests etc. They don't pay sick pay, so I asked why bother with the return to work interview, where absence has to be explained. Also, contract is temporary, so I give as much shrapnel to them as I like. All very well being Johnny Big Balls on an internet thread (and i would suggest in reality the conversation went somewhat differently), but the reality is, if you're off sick, you're not there doing the work they employed you to do therefore either the work is not being done, or someone else is having to take up the slack and do the work you do.
Its not unreasonable for an employer to ask when you may be fit for work again - whether they're paying you or not - so that they can make business decisions as to how to allocate your work either short, medium or long term.
I would suggest if you cheerfully feel that there is no impact to a business by you not being there, and as they dont pay you it doesnt matter, then perhaps your job isnt as secure as you think? Certainly i'd be looking carefully at your role and the requirement for it under such circumstances.
Still, I go back on Monday because they pay enough, but soon, when pensions kick in, they will get about as much notice as they give me. Like on Friday, it will be send the cheque in the post, see you!0 -

Your employer can't refuse to pay SSP. If youre eligible, they must pay it.0 -
BoP isn't eligible by the sounds of it, working as a contractor not an employee.0

A return to work interview is to ascertain if you are fit for work and to know if there is any risk of a relapse / further time off.
Not unreasonable to ask those questions.Blackbeard_of_Perranporth wrote: »

Funny, i tend to give companies reasons to give me contract extensions, not give them reasons to terminate me early.Blackbeard_of_Perranporth wrote: »

And then people wonder why companies are reluctant to employ older staff....
If your attitude in work is like your attitude on here about work, i am sure they'll breathe a sigh of relief.0
