Breville VKJ142 1.5L HotCup Kettle - Gloss Black

Tried it and it's a tad noisy but a kettle is when it boils so no bother to me.

The Breville Hot Cup - for a quicker cuppa
The Breville Hot Cup is designed to boil a cup of water in a matter of seconds, meaning great hot drinks at the touch of a button. It dispenses a 250 millilitre (ml) cup of boiling water--the equivalent of a standard drinking mug--and will dispense up to five cups without refilling--perfect for families or small offices.
The innovative patented technology ensures that water is only dispensed once it has reached boiling point, not simply very warm, but 100 degrees Celsius, making perfect hot drinks every time. In addition, the smooth and continuous flow of water keeps any splashing to a minimum.
By only boiling enough water for the number of cups you need, the Hot Cup is economical and energy efficient. There's no boiled water going to waste and it helps you save pennies on electricity bills.

I've got one & it's a godsend.
Even grumpy teenagers are more willing to brew up when it's hit a button, hot water sorted in under 30 seconds.
The old kettle is left beside it to help refill it, as its pouring spout gets water in more accurately...0 -
Treated myself to one as a gift to myself for my new house My boyfriend just pointed out that I do like to treat myself, don't I....... guess who's not getting to use it .•

BTW not detracting from original post - just thinking somebody might have vouchers...0 -
I've seen a range of reviews of this, mainly excellent. The poor reviews seem to focus on the fact that the water isn't actually boiling, despite the fact that Breville says it dispenses boiling water (and some people obviously find - or at least think! - it does).
Please could anyone who has actually got one confirm if the water really does come out boiling? Thank you.0 -

I've got one and I don't think the water is as hot as when you boil the kettle. I haven't actually measured the temperature of the water but if I make a cuppa for my mother she always says it can be drunk quicker (i.e. it isn't as hot).
However, it still dissolves coffee, sugar, stock cubes etc without any problems.0 -

I thought it wasn't boiling hot water like you get from a standard kettle but it is hot water, I haven't tested it with a thermometer - may try later just for curiosity“You’re only here for a short visit.
