BUPA private healthcare
Comments
-
My parents have private healthcare and find it worthwhile, but did a lot of investigation to choose which suited them best. I think it paid for mum's hearing aids, for instance. Do you travel and want access to your cover abroad for things travel insurance doesn't cover? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

It's a minefield especially for somebody who is looking to get private healthcare on an individual basis and it's difficult to know where to start. A rough idea of how much you'd need to pay would also be helpful, though obviously it would differ from person to person. Are we talking £50 per month, or hundreds. And, importantly, what are the gotchas.
I had private healthcare for me and my partner arranged via my previous employers benefits package and was paying around £80 a month for it - it would have cost considerably more to keep on when I left so I stopped at that point.
In my particular case it would have been cheaper to have self insured by just putting the £80 in a savings account. In seven years, we used it only once, when my partner needed an out patients eyelid operation.0
