15% deposit is more than enough for a help to buy mortgage.
I'd start the house search process asap. Look around for the professionals that you'll be needing if you don't have them already e.g solicitor, mortgage broker (not a must but rather helpful), surveyor etc.
All your housing needs should be considered before you start your search. This will help so you know exactly what you require and what to look for.
It's all about being as prepared as possible and being proactive. Good houses can come and go like hot cakes.0 -
Reading through this thread and thinking about the advice I'd probably give someone else, I think the best thing I can do is to rent for 6 months and use that as time to find and buy the place I actually want. I think it'll just be too difficult to go through a process I don't fully understand from hundreds of miles away.
