David Lloyd is a chain of health clubs (one of the more expensive ones).
In the Metro paper today they were advertising the opportunity to sample their club(s) for the day with a free day pass for those who are interested in membership. Details are here:

So phone the number, arrange a visit at your local club (and waste 20 mins on a tour) then ask for a day pass (for you and all your family) to use on another day. Most clubs have a full compliment of racquet sports, gym equipment, swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms etc. Cheaper than a "spa" day provided you don't mind enduring the initial soft sell!
