Halifax - proof of income - self employed?

Hi, so we've finally found a house that we love and had an offer accepted this afternoon!

Now this is where I start getting myself in a panick, we weren't expecting to put an offer in on this house so aren't quite as prepared as we should be.

My main issue is with what I need to show Halifax. We're using an online broker, have AIP, and need to get started with the full application. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to get hold of my broker until Tuesday now and I don't want to spend the whole weekend panicking.

Me and my partner are both self employed sole traders, on the halifax website it states for proof of income they require; tax calculations and tax year overviews, which we have for both of us. It also requires 3 years full accounts, clearly showing net profit.

Now for my partner an accountant completed his tax return, and gave him a snazzy little book at the end of each tax year with a breakdown included.

My situation was simpler, so I submitted my self assessment forms myself, so have none of that, what can I show them that they would classify as full accounts? I'm not sure if I'm being a bit dim here or wether I need to get an accountant to compile me something sharpish.

Any advice? Or will the tax calculations and overviews suffice, obviously I will ask my broker asap but wondered if anyone else has been in this situation recently? Thanks

    Hi,

Generally for sole traders, SA302s and Tax overviews would suffice. Most likely they will not ask for accounts. Accounts are required with limited companies.

You need to request your SA302s ASAP from the tax office

You may be able to log in and get SA302s from HMRC's online portal.

I've received an offer from Halifax recently being sole applicant and self employed. Good luck! :)

I have tax calculations, which I understand are sa302's printed offline, along with my tax year overviews again, printed offline

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
