CCA requests and DMP

This may have been answered elsewhere but, after extensive searching of the forum, I've not found the definitive answer to my particular situation and I would be very grateful for some advice on next steps. The situation goes like this:

Three years ago I entered a DMP with PayPlan. I've ridden out the first few initially stormy, but latterly calm, years. All creditors have accepted the proposed payments and all have stopped interest. I have (in the last month) had my annual review with PP and all creditors have accepted the revised offer.

I have six creditors. Four of those creditors relate to credit cards taken out in the mid-late 1990s. They have gone through many changes of ownership in that time and are now with DCAs. I have, today, written to each of those four DCAs (independently of PP) enclosing a £1.00 postal order for each of them (who knew it actually cost you £1.50!) asking for my original credit card agreement. I'm guessing it may take them sometime to find it.

What should I be doing in the meantime? Should I continue to pay them through PP? Should I freeze payment immediately by emailing PP to stop paying (thereby giving extra funding to the two post-2007 debts). Or should I do that once I've received acknowledgement of the fact the creditor has received my letter?

    Hi,

I would not be too hasty, but even if they can produce credit agreements from the 1990's, it's likley they will be unenforcable in a variety of ways, but best to wait and see first before you stop any payments.

Once they have acknowledged receiving your request, the accounts then cannot be enforced in court until such time as they provide a satisfactory responce to you, however long that period of time may be, so at that point, it's up to you what you do, but if it were me, I'd wait and see if they can produce the agreements or not first.
