I know the answer to this is probably on other threads but I rarely come onto employment section. Just wanted to confirm that if an employment offer is via e-mail with an attached word document , is that sufficient or do you still need a hard copy in the post ? (old fashioned I know) . thanks in advance

Either is fine, for what either is worth! If they intend to rescind an offe, they can. It doesn't happen a lot but it does happen0 -
Hi,
Electronic employment letters are very authentic just like the hard copy version. Either way, you have it in your possession, and the employer has it too (the same with hard copy). All that matters is that it came from the employer Whether electronic or hard copy, it can be called back or not.

I've always had the initial offer letter by email which was sufficient for me to accept (or renegotiate). In all cases, a contract in paper form was sent shortly afterwards (+ a hard copy of the offer letter where applicable).
However, the email with word attachment are fine.0 -

Yes either is fine these days - I always like to see a degree of formality, though, even if it is via email!0
