I did a silly thing

As in the title, I did a silly thing.
Through not being organised, when I opened my help to buy ISA with Halifax back in Jan, I managed to miss the deadline to deposit the £1k. I did however start the regular payments of £200 going.
If you're interested in how I could mess it up so badly I'll tell you;
I waited a while to receive my on line banking details, despite there being a branch round the corner. Secondly I tried to make the deposit from Santander twice but the confirmation text refused to come. I finally made a deposit which was then rejected by Halifax because it was passed the deadline (I thought it was 28 days but it is actually 21 days).
Anyway, being mid process through house buying I will now not make the minimum deposit to get the bonus (deposit date 29th of the month will take me to Aug to meet the minimum).
Do I instead of closing the account (there's no point now anyway without the bonus) keep it for the 4% tax free interest? And of course is that allowed? I'm not aiming to get the bonus later as I know I can only use it on the deposit which I expect to have paid prior to August.
