Can someone please explain how you get to your settlement figure. I have 2 years left on a 5 year loan and am looking to pay it off. So 23 months of payments works out £50 greater than what we would get with a settlement figure today. Is that correct?

Depends on the amount and rates.0

Hi yellowlawn
Could well be, but as zx81 says it's impossible for us to confirm without knowing the full details of the loan. There are numerous online calculators you can use to determine loan settlement figures.

If you have the details of your loan, Google "Guardian loan calculator" put your figures in and it will show the amount outstanding at each month, then just add 2X the interest the table says you would pay in the next month and that'll be more or less your settlement figure - if it turns out less because your lender doesn't charge 2 months interest on early settlement it's a bonus.0

That's what I was looking for. ThanksYellowlawn
