Correcting a default date

Hi,
Hoping for a little bit of advice. I’ve just checked my credit report on Noddle at noticed that the start date on one of my defaults is out of kilter with when I would’ve expected it to have occurred. I’ve been on a DMP with Payplan since June 2013. 3 of the accounts are with Natwest – one for a loan, one for a savings account that I was forced to set up when I went in to the bank to ask for help consolidating prior to contacting Payplan (another story altogether!), and one for an overdraft on my current account. While the loan and savings accounts were defaulted in November 2013, the current account wasn’t defaulted until January 2015! This is despite the fact that Natwest accepted the agreement with Payplan straight away, across all accounts.
I know I read somewhere on the forum that creditors are obliged to issue defaults within 6-12 months, but I can’t find the thread. Is that true of all types of debts? Is there anything I can do to get them to change the date? Has anyone successfully managed to do this?
Thanks you lovely, supportive people xx

Hi,
It's more difficult to determine the cause of action date, or default date with a current account, as you are not required to make any regular payments to it.
The best thing you can do, if you think it should of been defaulted earlier, is send a written complaint to that effect.
Lots of people have had success in backdating defaults this way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
