    check the new employers policy on recruitment bonuses if they do them start recruiting those that you identified as being good in your last job.


    if garden leave is not standard for your current job the employer has just told anyone that wants to leave how to get it.

    OP, bluntly, it's up to you to know what your contract requires, rather than fire-fighting after breaching it. I hope you can learn from this and move on.
