Wilkinson's 'Durable' range vs Dulux's Endurance?

Another thread i know but if it saves me £15 from buying some crappy paint then it's justified :)

Just wondering if this Wilkinsons stuff is any good, if any of you have used it?

We'll be painting our hall real soon & initially looked at Dulux's Endurance stuff.
Then saw Wilko's 'Durable' paint which per tin is cheaper before you get in to offers.

There was only 1 review left on their site on the colour we're looking at which was sort of 3/5-4/5.

Is one much better than the other?

I bought some Wilko's (not Durable) paint for another job & it was pretty poor to be honest. Numerous coats to do what Dulux was doing in half the coats.

But this Durable stuff may be different, so i thought i'd see if any of you have experience of it?

I wouldnt touch Wilkos paint with your roller , you get what you pay for

    That's what i was thinking.

Although some times you get some surprises where some cheap stuff (not necessarily paint) actually performs very well for its price.

So i figured it was at the very least worth an ask.

Get ur self to a johnstones depot. They offer very good quality paint (and can do colour match) at rates very similar to dulux range... Many tradesman use this brand...

Not totally relevant in the respect of not being relevant at all you mean?

  • We bought some for our living room and it was the most awful paint I've ever used. It went on badly and lifted if you went over it again with a roller, like you do when applying paint to the wall with a roller.

I've used other Wilko paint before without a problem but this Wilko Durable paint was really terrible.

It was also patchy and even after three coats didn't look good - I've decorated more houses than I care to remember and I know that I can most certainly paint a wall so it's nothing to do with using the wrong equipment or having the wrong technique.

Save yourself the hassle and buy Dulux.

    Thanks.

I actually bought Dulux in the end.

Has held up too knocks but we don't have a house full of kids trying to destroy the place.

    wait for deals

we don't have the need on the walls and got some Craig & Rose super cheap so went with that.
