My husband's credit rating is now showing as having no CCJ's - we are looking to consolidate our debts which amount to about £10,000 in an unsecured loan as we are tenants - can anyone recommend finance companies or search facilities to help us find the best rates?

thanks in advance

I don't work as just had a baby and he is a self employed IT contractor, he officially earns a few thousand pounds a year and pays himself the rest in dividends, his actual income is around £35k, he has business and personal banking but we have moved a lot recently with his work and his credit rating is still not great, although the worst has now reached the six year limit (am I making sense?!) His bank have only just given him a debit card after years of cash only

  • There is a chance that they will give him a loan if he has now obtained a debit card.
Things are obviously looking up and I would certainly ask the bank for a loan - the worst thing that can happen is they say no.
