IMF says leaving the EU is a significant risk.

I think that the "substantial point" that BobQ wanted to make is that the IMF never came out in favour of the UK joining the Euro.
Absolutely and you have demolished the argument comprehensively.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Perhaps they've done some things right. Although I don't think the authors are necessarily all that unbiased.
Something tells me that if the headline read 'IMF says leaving the EU poses no risk' you'd be arguing the exact opposite.
you are wrong
show me a few posts of mine where I use 'authority' (IMF, BoE, CBI etc) to justify my views.0 -
You are being obtuse. The question I asked is whether those statements about the IMF were based on evidence and where is it?
If you chose not to answer the credibility of the claim is questionable.
goggle is your friend:
my credibility is probably as low as the IMF, CBI, BoE, IFS, OBR and many more :
sadly I'm not proud to be in their company.0 -
That's quite funny, really. It's not that often people admit to the fact that their views are not evidence based.
The view of large international organisation or of the CBI etc is not 'evidence based'.
You may admire the CBI because they recommended that the UK should join the euro but I choose to disagree.
To me 'evidence based' means a line of facts supported by a logical argument and not because of the name of an organisation that has a poor track record in economic predictions.
The 'evidence ' seems to show you want to be member of the euro and I don't.
