I was suspended for gross misconduct, nothing that needs detailing. I just want to know yes or no weather, legally, they re allowed to refuse my resignation, as they have.
I have NO interest in working there or obtaining references from them...

I understand an employer cannot refuse a resignation, as I have looked at the website you proved, thanks cte1111 I just wonder if that applied to staff who are suspended.

    Hi,

If that is the case, you can go ahead and ignore them completely, since you feel you will not be needing them in any way. Also, they have no right to decline your resignation. All they needed to do was to ensure that the day your resignation will take effect conforms with the notice period for resignation as stated in your employment letter.

    Cheers.

I was happy to, given that it's none of my business. Why the urge to judge?
I wouldn't call it judging. I would call it informed anticipation.

I think that's the key bit.

Didn't the work place refuse the resignation because it was with immediate effect?
