But in post 1 you give examples of your need for doing an SA. You don't need to wait to be told to do it, once you have the capability (UTR etc) and the necessary figures (you seem to know what you are doing) then just do it.
While I agree it's generally very straightforward to do online I can't see much point in doing it until HMRC confirm that it's required and for which year(s). Although I might do the 15-16 return to see what it comes up with, but hold off actually submitting it until told to do so (unless the calculation says a refund is due, in which case get it in asap).0 -

I am due a refund, but as mentioned in my other reply still waiting on some numbers. Is it possible to run the calculation or do a demo or do you get one go at it?0 -
Until you submit you can do whatever you like as many times as you like with whatever figures you like.0
