Does the eligibility checker actually work?

Hello,
Just curious about the loans eligibility checker and whether or not it does work.
Reason for asking is that when I carry it out I get a 60% chance of approval for Zopa yet I know full well I would not be accepted due to 3+year old defaults.
Thanks

yoshiyella,
If you are referring to the Loan Eligibility Checker on this site then the answer is no. It is an Experian Consumer Credit product only. Whilst MSE, ClearScore, etc do their best directly or via third parties such as HD decisions, the fact is that they have no way of knowing what criteria any given Lender is using at any given time.
Also be aware that the use of this product has recorded a Quotation Search (the term for this varies from CRA to CRA) on your record with Experian. Whilst it is likely this event will only ever be known to Experian and yourself, I understand (from my novice knowledge of PoR) that there are other parties that will be able to see this depending on their designation, which might prove to be a disadvantage to you.The views expressed here are my own. I am not a Solicitor nor am I affiliated with any of the parties I mention. If you disagree with any of my comments please say in whatever way feels most natural to you. Hi,
I was pre-approved for a MBNA credit card on their own website so I continued with the application and was declined which I was surprised about. They said you can't get our superdouper credit card but we can give you this one and then turned me down
