G24 Meadowhall parking charge notice
Ono
Hi All,
I'm seeking advice on whether I should cough up the £25 fine (will rise to £50 if I delay or lose appeal) I got through the post from G24. I've already had an expensive month (oven had to be replaced!) and if it's possible I don't want to have to pay out for this too!
I parked at 7pm and overstayed the time limit at a retail carpark. I don't have an excuse as such apart from the fact the carpark was virtually empty when I arrived and left (I actually would have been willing to pay to park there but no option to) I have parked here and never had a problem before. Obviously I won't park here and overstay in the future.
I have seen the template letter on the other thread(it won't let me post link unfortunately as I'm a newbie) which shows what to write to members of IPC, which it says on letter that G24 is, but wondered if it's still relevant/up to date? It appears to reference something from 2012?
I just want to know likelihood of this being accepted as an appeal? Any help would be much appreciated!!

hi and welcome to the forum ....
if the thread you mention is this one
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
then it is up to date ......
if it is an IPC scammer .... then you will not win your appeal .... even if the queen offered a letter of support ....
where you using any facilities on the retail park ?
re read up on courses of action re IPC .......
and
good luck

I didn't think Meadowhall had a time limit for parking.0

Do not even think about paying G24 any money.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the advice so far- it wasn't at Meadowhall- it was at the retail park near there(where toys r us is).
I parked there as I couldn't get parked at cinneworld (which is nearby but different carpark) the carpark was nearly empty- I didn't think at that time of night it would matter.
I don't really understand what people mean by if it's a scam- how can I tell? They have pictures of my car entering and exiting and I was parked there when I shouldn't have been.
It's just that I've heard about parking fines like this being a con, but don't know how I could tell??!0 -
Depends on your definition of "con".
You cannot just ignore this con you are now caught up in.
Read up on what to do and when in the newbies faq thread at the top of the forum0 -
What people mean by "con" is that private parking companies use; misleading, lying, bullying, threatening tactics, along with copying the same type of ticketing devices, paperwork format, initials e.g. PCN to frighten the victim into funding their yacht, villa or child's education fund!0
