Hi folks,

Using windows 7, don't want to upgrade this particular installation to windows 10.

I currently access my Hotmail and msn email addresses through windows live mail 2012 and have received an email from Microsft that it may well stop after 30 june 16, as they are migrating people to a new system with office 365.

A few question if anyone has any answers.

I have office 2013 (academic version) installed will outlook that comes bundled with it work ok and collect from both my email addresses, after june?

2 if Not what what are the chances some developer will develop a client to offset this program change, or will it continue to work on Mozilla Thunderbird client?

3 Microsoft are offereing a free years sub to office 365 but have to imput cc details, and its auto renew, they say that I can cancel at any time, but just wondering if I do, will I still get the free years sub to the end of the term I signed up for?

Thanks to anyone for replies if any more info on this.

According to an article I read the other day I would avoid 'Thunderbird'. It said that Thunderbird is no longer being updated making it a target for hackers. The article suggested either switching to a web client or 'Mailbird'.

A comment about a random article without any link to it ... yep, that's something to give credence to. ;)

Thunderbird is offering to update to 45.1 from 45.0 just in the last week so it doesn't look like it has stopped updating.

    I'm also on 45.1.

In answer to the OP, if you already have Outlook 2013, assuming the licence isn't due to expire soon, I would use that.

It should work with whatever Microsoft are doing to their mail servers, and you can link it to multiple email addresses.

don't you log in to win10 with a microsoft account? if not i would set one up and start using that email as opposed to one linked to ISP for obvious reasons.
