In the Bible it says God created the World in six days, and on the seventh day he rested. It has recently been discovered that this was not the case. On the afternoon of the seventh he got bored and created Wood Green.:A

I think He might have had a couple of drinks before He got going then. It's hard to imagine our Infallible Creator making Lordship Lane!

I think we can agree that the UK and Oz both have their good and bad points. Which is better, is entirely a subjective opinion.

Australia is gorgeous, but it's so far away. My cousins were living in Lane Cove (Sydney) when I went there, and they didn't show me any impoverished or rough areas, so the impression I have of Australia is of a lovely, clean place. Trouble is, after living in Europe all my life, I think I might find it quite dull after a couple of years. A lot of Brits do and return. After spending years in Africa, my cousins lived in Australia for a couple of decades (high-powered position at university for my aunt) before returning to Europe. I also don't like endless hot weather, and find the British climate easier to cope with. I find I can be more active in the autumn to spring months, when it is not too hot (I love walking, but find it hard to do in hot weather, and travelling by Tube and train is nightmarish in summer, especially in the rush hour)… :)

I don't live so far away from Lane Cove.

You are mostly right about Aus but it really is a great place to raise kids.

Considering that many of the complaints of aus are about the hours you have to put in, is there such a thing as standard metric linking the cost of living to the standard of living, like how long a person has to work to afford a loaf of bread/McD's burger/3-course dinner/whatever?
