How do I get a biro stain off a desk?
misery-able
Decided to get on top of the housework today, sailed through the downstairs and then got stumped in sons room - new desk with a nice biro line down it. The desk isn't particularly expensive - its part of his new bed, its probably some sort of wood laminate (contradiction in term?), before I do the wrong thing wondered if anyone had any experience, Thanks:beer:
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is, unless its from this forum!

I'm not sure if you have small children, but if you do then you'll probabley have a baby wipe. Nothing would get biro off my TV screen except a baby wipe....... it does make you wonder what they do to baby's bums though if they can clean biro off stuff!"all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time..."0

Hi,
I have a similar bed to you I think, its a bunk bed style thing with a desk and a futon underneath. The Laminate/veneer thing on the desk is the like paper. My DD often puts biro/felt pens on the desk, and dare I say on the OS board, I use Mr Muscle Kitchen Cleaner on all pen marks over the house, on windowsills etc, I find it an absolute godsend, but DO NOT LEAVE it for long as it will remove the top layer of veneer or paint.

Biro ink is soluble in methylated spirit (or surgical spirit). I'd definitely try it on an out-of-sight bit first, in case it affects the surface. If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0

Hey

My dear daughter has drawn on my coffee table
Its waxed pine and it has left a dent where the pen went... I know the dent will stay, but does anyone have any idea what is the best way to get the pen off please?
Its not an expensive table and dents add character
but I would like to get the pen off

Hi Frugal , these threads have a few ideas
Have you tried baby wipes/hairspray/wd40? They are common stain removers.
