House deposit from sale of a car

Hi All,I have saved up 30k for a deposit of a house. I sold a car about a month and a half ago for 5k. I was hoping to buy another car with it but haven't come across anything suitable so now I am going to deposit it in my savings account. Thing is I have found a house I like and I'm hoping to put down 35k as a deposit. Conveyancer told me in our last property purchase that anything added to my savings account in the last 3 months needs proof. What proof do I need to show that the recent transaction of 5k came from a car sale?

You don't have anything linking the 5k cash you paid in to the cash you received weeks earlier - you just need to explain to your conveyancer and hope that they're satisfied with it.
  • Copy of relevant DVLA docs for transfer should satisfy anyone
