Kind of new to Sky+ so excuse my lack of knowledge.
I want to get Sky+ for my home as cheaply as possible, should I shop around or is it the same price everywhere?
Where is the cheapest/best place to go if prices vary and also the best deal - I want as much as I can get for as little money as possible
Thanks

Dixons were offering a 'free' set up & 'free' Hitachi stereo micro system, worth £149 in the store in Luton last week.
& this information comes from a monesaver WITHOUT a TV!!

Every one I know who has it says its great. But there are a few catches with the contract.
The system basically works by having 2 sky signals going into the back. One signal gets used is used for watching and the other for recording. You can kinda see how you can pause live tv (theres 2 signals).
Firstly you need to buy the box and installation (they have been running various offers in the past where this is reduced). You then have to pay £10 on top of your sky package subscription, unless you receive more than one Sky premium channel i.e. Sky Sports 1 & 2 and Sky Movies 1 & 2, the Sky+ this fee is waivered.
At present the basic sky+ box will cost £99, installation is free, select the package you want, e.g. Sky Sports with Sky Family- £33 per month (no £10 fee). The basic package costs £19.50 but you will need to add the £10. Also current offer you get your first month free.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0 -
Is there a recommended 'cheap' way of getting it?0

Is there a commercial alternative or do you have to get it from SKY ?
I have looked on SKy website and it is only the basic version for £99 (5 hrs. recording time I think), whereas the 160Gb hard drive version, which is the one to have is £399. Any info would be appreciated."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
DEpends whether you are a new customer or not. Brand new customers get it for around £99. If u are an existing customer then it costs around £149 but this includes relocating ur existing box to another room. This is called Multiroom.
You may have to pay £10 a month for the second box if you are not subscribed to their top packages0 -

Darren,
There is another thread on Sky on the board, so I hope you don't mind if I merge the two together.
