  • Plodding on with pushing through the mid month slump. I've listed 3 things on Facebook sites tonight, one of which is sold already. I've also carried on using survey sites. I'm also considering more bank accounts! I think we'll need another TSB account by the end of the month, as we'll have more money than can earn interest in our accounts. I also want to open an M&S account for the switching bonus and monthly bonus. I'll get on with that tomorrow.
The first lot of DH's expenses have been paid, and I'd already budgeted to cover them so that's a bit more into savings and the TSB cashback from last month has also been paid. Free money total for this month is not looking bad, and should increase next month as accounts will have been open for the whole month .
All helps to deal with the mid month slump. Keep plodding on all, we'll get there in the end.
  • Sorry for not posting more regularly, I'm getting to the constantly exhausted part of pregnancy and just ready for this baby to arrive now. DS's childminder is also on holiday so I'm running around after an energetic 2 year old most days as well! Doesn't leave much time for posting, although I'm trying to keep up with reading diaries when I can.
We're at the fun end of month pay day part of the month. Tomorrow is my pay day and not only is it the month with the extra pay check but it also contains my bonus for the year so a large chunk will be going into savings:j It also has the nice problem that all the high interest accounts I've opened will be full, with some extra for at least the beginning of the month. I've applied for a Track bank account, which earns 3% and doesn't need DDs or minimum pay ins. The plan is to use that to put extra in and take it out as money goes out through the month.
I'll post back with my monthly update on the 1st, unless I've had a baby by then!
  • Should have said Tesco bank account... silly auto correct!

You don't need to apologise Abi, the final stages of pregnancy is exhausting particularly when you have a toddler to run after too. You are doing great on the financials - you really have embraced the high interest current account lark.
Do let us know when the baby is born, lots of MF Aunties on hear will be waiting to hear :D
  • So, August update got delayed by the arrival of DD :) She arrived on the 1st so I was a bit busy having a baby to update the diary! We are only out of hospital today and starting to get used to life as a family of four. Need I say, she is gorgeous :)

    So August update:
    Mortgage balance - £111953.30
    Net debt - £88866.43
    Monthly change - £3248.09 less debt :T

    Savings goals
    Maternity leave fund -£4000
    DIY - £1438.66
    Mortgage overpayments fund - £3300
Change from last month - £4416.54 more in savings :T

Free money total for July - £40.96

It feels really good to have both broken the £112000 barrier on the mortgage and the £90k barrier on net debt.

Further updates may be a bit sporadic at the moment with the baby but I'll update when I can.
