Lowell: received letter but with no statement of debt

Hi,
I received a letter from Lowell a few days ago to my home address. Within the letter they had listed my old address from my university house, and asked me to contact them to confirm whether or not I had lived at that address in the past (bear in mind it's been almost four years since I moved out from there).
New to their name, I researched the company to discover they were a debt collectors, and I immediately grew suspicious for a number of reasons, but mainly because A) I have no debts besides my student loan,
have only had two other addresses since I left university which wouldn't have made me hard to find over the course of nearly four years, and C) have delved into these forums and other websites to discover that Lowell looks like a somewhat dubious company.
The heart of the issue though is that Lowell haven't stated outright in their letter that I owe them anything like I've seen they've done to other people, so I don't know where to go next or what to expect from them, and naturally I'm quite concerned given their profession and am reluctant to ignore it unless I know I'll be safe doing so. Following advice on other threads I took out a credit check with Experia which has come back fine with no outstanding debts. I found the provit letter on here too, but obviously I don't see as there's any need for me to send it to them since they haven't asked me for any money.
If anybody has any advice on what I should do next I'd be most grateful.

Hi,
No need to do anything.
Unless they write back to you with allegations of a specific debt you owe.

Hi
I agree with Sourcrates. You're not obliged to contact them, and they can provide more details if they think they've actually contacted the right person.
