Hotels in Glasgow

I am looking for a reasonable priced hotel in Glasgow when I am over in the city for an interview. Someone suggested the Ambassador Hotel in the West End. Can anyone local recommend the hotel? Is there much night life close to it or have you got to travel into the city centre?

The Ambassador Hotel is in the Westend of the city and you'd have to get a ten-minute bus/subway ride to get into the centre, or about 40mins walk. It would be relatively quiet at the Ambassador as its a residential street, but you will probably hear passing traffic.

Not sure what to recommend, there are premier/holiday inn's/travelodge's in the centre if you want to be in the centre itself.

Depending on what day of the week you are staying the crowne plaza can be reasonable. Its quite close to the city centre and they have a pool sauna and steam room. The breakfast was really good when i stayed there as well.
