Transfer Aegeon and Aviva to Friends Life

I have £8K in a Friends Life pension plan. I want to consolidate my pensions into one pot to make it more manageable. I currently have the following pension plans:
1) Aegeon - about £3K
2) Aviva (previously Norwich Union) - about £2K
3) SHPS - about three months
4) Local Government Pension Scheme (about two years)
I received the paperwork from Aegeon and Aviva and I have filled it in. I have now received a letter from Friends Life, which says:
"You should understand the benefits you give up before transferring out of a scheme"
I am only planning to move the Aegeon and Aviva pension plans to Friends Life. I do not believe it would be a wise move to transfer the LGPS and SHPS. Is there anything else I should consider?

Why that way around? I would put most people doing it the other way.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. That sounds like a generic letter warning people to look for things like guaranteed annuity rates on their pensions before they transfer.0
