Hi first of all hello and i hope i have posted in the right place.
I need a bit of help with some catalogue debt i have i current owe
Very £3400 and Next £850 i don't work and all i have are benefits for my
son who is disabled ie carers allowance and Dla and some tax credits.
At the moment i pay £200 a month £50 to next and it is taking up a lot
of money, some weeks i can barely eat after paying gas and electricity.
I live with my partner who works but pays almost all his wages on debts and the mortgage
so i dont want to trouble him and any more.My point is would it be worth me applying for
a DAS or DMP and would they take my payments down any lower?

Hi
If you live in Scotland the DAS sounds like it could be a good option for you as your monthly debt payments should be reduced. It will be based on how much you can realistically afford each month after your living costs, but you can start a DAS as long as your debt can be repaid within around 10 years.
DAS is generally better than a DMP as it gives you more protection against diligence being used, and interest being added to your debts.
Are you named on the mortgage or do you have any other assets? If not bankruptcy might also be an option for you to have your debts written off.
There is more information on a DAS plus you can search for a local money adviser to run it for you here. Don't contact a company who would charge you a fee:
