Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I don't know what else to do.
Basically, my partner and I are going through a rough patch financially at the moment, so she decided to sell her laptop (MacBook) as it's rarely used and could fetch £600ish.
She found a buyer in London who transferred the funds via PayPal, and this was confirmed by email from PayPal. We were provided the postal address to send it to so we posted the laptop yesterday with the Post Office.
Turns out the email was a fake and PayPal have no record of the transfer.
We've spoken to the Post Office and PayPal and they can't do anything.
We've contacted West Yorkshire Police and they've basically said they can't do anything but they'll pass the information over to the Met Police.
The parcel is due to be delivered tomorrow before 1pm. Once it's been delivered we won't be able to get the laptop or money back.
This money from the sale was going to cover our rent for the month.
What can I do? I don't know what to do
any help would be massively appreciated.

Hi,
Your only option is to get in touch with Royal Mail and see if they can stop delivery of it, these are there opening hours, it's to late now today, I'd get on the phone at 8am if I were you :
03457 740 740. We're open Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-1pm and Sunday 9am-2pm
On another note, if money is that tight I would suggest getting in touch with stepchange and going through your options with them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Damm, short of going to the guys address then, there's little else you can do.
I know couriers can have deliveries stopped on request of the sender, I thought Royal Mail may have a similar policy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Try the local sorting office at about 5am tomorrow morning. I know that ours will hold a parcel for me if I call early enough.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -
I would also call the local police at the intended delivery address- chances are it is part of a bigger fraudJune challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

Problem that I've got is Royal Mail said something along the lines of "we're obliged to deliver the package", even though they know the background to it.
It's meant to be Romford sorting office that it's at at the moment; do you think asking them to not deliver it would work? What would be the best way of asking?"No sacrifice, no victory"
