Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on the forum as it’s not what the site's about. Discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable but please don't discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please read the forum rule). If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
zipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

It's the time of year when harvest mites start to appear. Their bites are very, very itchy and they can be brought in by a cat.0

Nothing found in the traps after a few nights, and a change in fabric conditioner seems to be lessening the symptoms. The poor old washing-machine has now disgorged enough clothes and bedding that we can fully clothe ourselves and sleep in a known-good brand, so if this does the trick then mystery solved. (And then on to re-washing the mountain of stuff we just hot-washed with the rogue conditioner to get the "BBs" out - chiz chiz.)
@zippychick apologies, I honestly wasn't looking to solicit medical advice: that's trusting people on the internet just a little more than I'm comfortable with (no offence, everybody) and I could hardly expect anyone to do that better than my GP when they can't even see the symptoms. My rationale was that making an unfounded conclusion about the cause would mean a lot of wasted cash (as indeed it has to some extent, in electricity for the washing-machine). However I do see how it's a fine line, so point taken.0
