Work injury claim

Hi all

Wasn't sure what forum to post this on but this seemed like the closest

My wife has significant tennis elbow injury after several years of repetitive task at work
- we are quite certain there's a case as there is evidence of neglect

My question is how to sound out a good no win no fee solicitor?
It's an area we know nothing about but we have no money to pay any upfront fees

I should mention she was recently made redundant by this firm but even two months later, she's having another round of cortisone injections so it is a serious problem even now she hasn't worked in a while

Thanks

I don't know your wife's circumstances or where she worked, but it was cover things like that , that I joined a union.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

As with any kind of legal work, the best starting point is personal recommendation.
All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)

That's the thing - we don't know anyone who's been down this road

Does anyone know anything obvious to avoid with these no win companies?

    Thanks

An obvious thing is to check is the fee if they do win and if it is tied to any compensation. You don't want to get compensation of £1k and find their fees are £2k - and probably not £999 either!
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

    Thx - I'll check further

For the elaboration, it was light machinery work with the machinery placed on top of something of a table with no leg space so u had to sit almost side on and because the machinery was raised, your arms were continuously suspended in the air

My wife raised it with a manager who did nothing for 3 months until she went to the doctor

They brought a h&s expert in who did nothing at all

I'm qualified in ergonomic risk assessments and I know the company neglected to resolve the matter

The H&S expert must have had something to say surely,

They also could go down the road that it is retaliatory, ie She is only making this claim because we made her redundant, if you see what I mean.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Google "compensation for tennis elbow" and loads of supposedly nwnf solicitors appear. I would suggest you ring 3 or 4 and ask about your chances of success and if you have to pay anything up front or take out insurance policy. Remember to stay in control of the ensuing conversation and make sure all your questions are properly answered.

That wouldn't be a defence in law.
