Tap out at Oyster pink reader

Options
Just travelled Stratford to Camden Road and back. Arrived and departed Stratford on AGA. Touched in on pink validator, at Stratford and out at Camden Road. Touched in at Camden Road and touched pink validator at Stratford, (display showed "Entering Interchange", then caught the AGA to Billericay holding a paper ticket. Will Oyster recognise that I terminated my Oyster journey at Stratford? Or will I seem to have an incomplete journey?

I was changing trains and I had 2 minutes to get from Platform 2 to platform 10 and didn't see any yellow Oyster reader on that route which is very short and doesn't go anywhere near a station exit.

I figured that as a pink reader had worked for me going one way it would work coming back.

I guess if I had more time I would have looked around I might have found a yellow one.

I can now see from my journey history that I have been charged £3.50 and no touch-out was registered. I guess I will have to submit a request for £2.50 to be refunded.

I always have a pass but Stratford is a nightmare for interchaging as they have so many different modes from one place and it's all so open. whereas most of other places force you to go through barriers within the station to connect elsewhere.

double check tomorrow it defo correlates with what you say and just get the refund. next time you go and have more time try to see where the yellow one is. In general they're not clear though.

Clapham Junction is the same. You can see where they are.

I phoned them and they agreed a refund direct to my bank account. Hopefully, if I have to do that journey again I will have time to find a yellow reader to tap out properly.

I travel through Stratford several times a week using different routes and the card readers are very scarce. There's 2 on opposite sides of the concourse by the jubilee line but that's a bit of a hike from the platforms being used by OP.

There are yellow ones on the Central line/TfL Rail platforms, as well as the ones on the Jubilee concourse. I thought I remembered one in the corridor from Platforms 1 & 2 across to the Jubilee, but as I had already tapped on the OG platform, and my next train was rumbling in overhead, I didn't spend anytime looking. At least there was no question asked when I called up. Refund straight away.

There are also yellow readers near the DLR, but that's probably too far. If you go to the gateline to touch out, you don't have to walk through the barriers. Just touch the card on the yellow reader and turn round.

The pink readers will only work as enter and interchange, they don't ever end a journey (except when you are still touched in but have exceeded the maximum journey, in which case it will create an incomplete journey then start a new one).

Thank you. Lesson learned. Refund received. Will get it right next time if there is one (Overground to AGA change at Stratford journey, I mean.)
