Good for you - I did that just over a year ago and finished at the end of September. Like you, I found the last few months more "peaceful" than those before.
Since then I've relocated to just outside the Lake District and I love it, especially when I hear from ex-colleagues about how the job's been changing since I left.
Once my flat sale has gone through, the relocation will be complete and I'm a completely free agent. Most of what I've been doing thus far is sorting the house and getting "into" the garden. when that's all up together the tops of the fells are calling. If I get bored there are plenty of things in the area that I can volunteer to help, etc.0 -

It wasn't an easy decision (at first) to make, I actually agreed a plan with them where I would stay for much longer (about another 6 years) earlier last week, but soon afterwards I knew that I had made a big mistake, and I then handed in my notice a few days later. It has taken me a while to realise that the most precious commodity is now time for me, I'll be a week away from being 59 when I leave, so the years that I have left are getting very precious.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Good for you Chuck.
I hope you have a healthy early retirement and are able to do all the things you want.0
