Hi everyone,
If there is anybody that can help I'd really appreciate it.
OK. Basically, I had an episode of mental health problems lasting about 5 months.I took 4 mnths off work but had to go back due to financial reasons but was nowhere near ready to re-enter the workplace. During this time I pretty much slept, didn't really eat properly and now have a weight loss which has left me with muscle loss. I also have the addded disadvantage of chronic fatigue syndrome.
I would like to start building myself up again physcially but the lack of muscle (and energy!) is a big factor in holding me back.
Is there anybody who has been in a similar position and can offer any advice please?

What about walking for short periods, gradually building up the time/speed/distance as your strength improves?
You could also try some of the chair-based "strength and tone" type exercises on youtube.
Or this

There is so much out there on the internet, have you tried looking for exercises specifically designed for people with ME
Found this

Hey! It's great you're able to get back to things. Not any advice but I have two severe mental health problems, spent years sitting around doing nothing and got to 21st. I ended up hiring a Personal Trainer (you can get group sessions and semi private too sometimes), this was due to me being unable to go alone but realising I was letting the mh stop me do one thing I enjoy and also similar issues to you
I think the GP does exercise on referral too, so could maybe refer you to classes with health professionals overseeing it (if this is your thing)
I did a lot of circuits and small weights at first but now do deadlifts, bench press, squats and leg press, amongst other things and love it. I have gained muscle and lost at one point 6st 5 (had a slight relapse for ten months so gained some back, but am losing that again now)
Best of luck x0
