Which walking socks?

I've done a couple of Moonwalks in the past and have also completed the London to Brighton Challenge wearing 1000 mile socks which have been brilliant in preventing blisters.
I'm now preparing for the Nijmegan Marches (40km each day for 4 days) and have ordered a pair of 2 season 1000 miles socks but tbh they don't look as if they will prevent blusters.
So do I use a liner with these socks or go for a completely different sock ?

Hi,
I can't help with the socks, but I would recommend that you buy some of these plasters.
Expensive, but great.0 -

Already in the first aid bag lol0 -
Karrimor marathon socks from Sports Direct or Amazon. They seem a bit pricey to me @ £4.50 a pair but I still wear the pair I used for the Moonwalk in 2014!
A clean pair for each day?
And... Respect! Well done you :T0 -
Not sure, probably have to be pretty shiny to moonwalk though.
Maybe somthing high cotton %.0 -
On my long walks I wear popsocks under the 1000miles socks.
I also put Vaseline on my feet.
And bring Compeed just in case!
As you are no doubt well aware, broken in shoes are the key. At the first sign of heat on your feet, get the shoes off, find the problem area and compeed or even duct tape! yep that's what I said!
Best of luck.
If you google Camino de Santiago Forum there are long distance walkers there who are very knowledgeable about kit and kaboodle. They do 1000k after all.
For example......

Change socks regularly, find out which bits are prone to blisters. I have one place that no matter what i wear always rubs, so I just put fabric tape on it before I begin and its all good.
I can't recommend any individual socks as it all depends on your feet. FOr instance I can barely manage to walk half a mile with 1000 mile socks on without getting a blister, yet other socks 26 miles no probs.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
It seems to be a two layer sock so I would not wear liner socks but if you are getting blisters you don't have the correct fitting shoe/boot as something is rubbing.0

Thanks for all the advice folks.
I wore a pair of 1000 mile socks that I already had yesterday and if anything it proved that the ones I had aren't really warm weather walking socks.
I will look at the Karrior socks ....compared to the £13 that I pay for 1000 mile socks, £4.50 is a bargain!0 -
Awesome, might get some of these for my longer runs0

I used Trespass Rizzoli socks on Saturday to climb Arrochar at Ben Lomond. They were great and didn't get any blisters at all. Warm weather socks as well. I would recommend taking some blister pads with you just in case though. Good luck!0
