Possibly the quality of the beef being used
I buy lidl's as here it's garaunteed to be Irish beef. It really is very good value for money, 800g easily feeds 6 to 8 adults, even allowing for the fat loss
Yes that's exactly what I thought,I've tried most types from most places even tried the local butchers steak mince and it won't brown. Considering the surface area of mince it's really weird it won't brown as it used to do years ago.0 -
Tesco have 15% fat steak mince for £3.96 per kg at the butcher counter. So it is £1.98 for 500g.
This is labelled as either British or Scottish, depending on the store. I'm in the heart of England and one store sells British, whilst the other sells Scottish. No idea why they only label mince as Scottish and never as English, Welsh or Northern Irish.0
