Contacting Mortgage Brokers Posting on Here?

I've been following these forums for a while now and have been impressed by the advice given, and the spirit in which it's been given, by some of the mortgage advisers and brokers who take the time to reply to some of the questions asked here. There are one or two who I would be interested in talking to with a view to engaging their services when I look to move home later this year.
So, a question to you brokers - are you happy to contacted through MSE, and do MSE allow it? If so, what is your preferred method of being contacted - a public request for contact details, a private message or some other way?
Many thanks.

You are allowed to contact the brokers, the brokers are not allowed to contact you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I would suggest viewing their public profile (click on their user name to see link) to see if they offer details of their business. If that fails then a private message is the next best way, anyone who has messages turned off or who doesn't reply clearly isn't interested in gaining business this way.
It is against forum rules to tout for business, so bear in mind poster who come along for a short time and post stuff that is obviously intended to seek new business. That said there are brokers on here who are very helpful and I see no harm if they do pick up the occasional client as a result of this.
I suggest you steer clear of anyone who doesn't post on here but sends you a PM on the off chance you may engage them as that seems an underhand way of gaining clients.
Remember that MSE does not check anyone's signature, so no guarantees that anyone who says they are a mortgage broker is not actually a trapeze artist.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks for your reply Kingstreet. I had noticed from your signature that you don't want to obtain work through these forums but not all other brokers are as clear, hence the question.0 -

Despite the signature, you'd be surprised by the PMs I still get asking direct questions, or for representation.twicebittennotshy wrote: »Thanks for your reply Kingstreet.
