Depends how many motors you have mate, but I've been paying £350 a year for 3 years now with Admiral Multicar, that's for myself and the missus, 2 policies, both cars fully comp, and hers for business use as a district nurse0

Obviously check what you are getting for your money, i.e. Excess, Protected no claims etc etc - its all in the detail........................0

Phone the companies instead of online, you get much better service that way. Try Direct Line too. They gave us a very good deal but Admiral just beat them (although we have multicar)0

Use the UK comparison site too not just the NI ones, go compare, confused . com, etc...
Get the best price then factor in Quidco. Directline were £10 cheaper for me this year but Aviva have £60 cashback on Quidco so worked out cheaper this year after cashback.
A lot depends on the car you have and who uses it for what purpose, but this year since my car is new I didn't need breakdown cover as it comes with the car for 3 years, so saved a few quid not taking that on the insuranceI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Final update: Solved
I realise that there are lots of factors and everyone's situation will be different, car type, age, type of cover etc etc. So not going into all those details, but after supplying the same needs via telephone and on-line comparison sites and individual companies on line and via telephone they were all landing around the £310 price approximately.
But my current insurer broker: Mulheren from Claudy (but they have 5-10 offices spread around N Ireland) got me insured with Zurich Insurance (again) for £225 fully comp, complete with Home start, breakdown and legal expenses all included. Almost £100 of a saving. So after a 5 min phone-call with them the easy option was the best...this time anyhow:-)
Thanks again for all the advice offered it was appreciated....“Having, first, gained all you can, and, secondly saved all you can, then give all you can"....John Wesley
