My birthdate is Oct 53 and state pension date is July 2018.
Tried to delete but didn't work as I hadn't realised that if you were born April 53 but after 3rd you are only having to wait an extra couple of months for your pension.0 -
I would like to know as well, I reach state pension age on 4 July 160

Assuming you don't defer entitlement starts on the day you reach SPa. Assuming you are being paid four weekly (there is no monthly option) the particular week of the four is determined by the renewal cycle you are on which is determined from your NINO.
Your first payment is from your SPa date to the payday you actually get paid on (determined from the renewal cycle above). If your SPa date is anything other than 6 days before the payday you get paid pro-rata for that first week.0 -
Last two digits of NI number ('Payday' state pension begins): 00-19 (Monday); 20-39 (Tuesday); 40-59 (Wednesday); 60-79 (Thursday); 80-99(Friday).
From the above, I know my payday is a Monday.
I reach state pension age on a Monday, but what is my renewal cycle?
So I reach 65 on Monday 4 July, when do I receive my first payment?
I have never got this clear in my mind.

But the link isnt actually right!
Anyone paid in arrears but an SPa date before 6/4/2016 normally gets paid from the day after the next payday (technically it is "payday - 6").
Anyone on nSP (SPa date after 5/4/2016) has the benefit starting from the SPa date and the first week or part week is from the SPa date to the next payday - this can be 1 day if the SPa date is on the payday.0 -
Thanks - I seem to remember now that Snowman mentioned the change at some point when discussing new state pension.
The updated Age UK factsheet for April 2016 is now available.
http://www.ageuk.org.uk/Documents/EN-GB/Factsheets/FS19_State_Pension_fcs.pdf?dtrk=true
On page 40
"Under the old State Pension scheme payments are normally made only
for full weeks and your State Pension starts from your first pay day after
you are entitled to payment. In the new State Pension scheme from April
2016, payment will start from the day you reach State Pension age."0 -
This is still as clear as mud to me, from the above "....payment will start from the day you reach State Pension age."
I guess that means on the 4th July, the day I turn 65, I receive my first payment?

Page 40 says that pensions are normally paid 4 weeks in arrears.
Perhaps you'll get your part week, and 4 weeks worth somewhere at the beginning of August
My husband is 65 in late October, and I'm expecting his first payment to be towards the end of November.Early retired - 18th December 2014
