mortgage broker advice....

i need to find a mortgage broker but im at a loss as to where to start.....im so worried about ending up with a dud and I don't really know what im looking for. due to my case being a bit 'complicated- credit history- I need to make sure I get it right!


can anyone give me any advice on what I should be looking out for.....or, and im not sure if this is allowed on here, any decent ones in the Walsall (west midlands) area?
ive looked online but im not really sure what im looking for!!

    If you have bad credit, it is probably not a bad idea to look for a broker who is experienced or specialises in bad credit.

    Also, try to find a broker who only charges on results, at least that way you have some confidence if they are taking on the job it is because they think they can do it.

    Can you ask friends or family?
    If not, try calling a few and have a chat and see if you get on with them. It can be a stressful couple of months so you need to like them and have confieence in them otherwise it will just be more stress.

    General rule of thumb, avoid estate agent based brokers as they seem to have more people slating them on here than non estate agency based brokers...in my opinion :P
