Negotiate Gym Cost
Options

I moved to the area in July 2014. I have not yet joined a gym. Last Saturday I decided to bite the bullet and found the closest gym, which is within one mile of my house. I had a three day trial, which ended today. I was pleased with how the trial went and said that I would make a decision by the weekend, which is when I want to next visit.
Tonight I have done some research and I found this: http://www.lincolnshireecho.co.uk/Lincoln-gym-membership-prices-facilities/story-21058545-detail/story.html. The gym I attended is charging about £380 for one years membership, which is more expensive than most. I realise that the article is nearly two years old, however the gym I attended is still more expensive than most. I have a few options:
1) Start a three day trial at another gym. Then compare them and choose one.
2) Attempt to negotiate the price down on the local gym?
Has anyone been successful with point two? All the gyms offer incentives if you introduce new members.

You won't negotiate the price. That's pretty much impossible unless you work there.0

I've been a member of a few gyms (and lets just say the gyms in London are a fair amount more than the gym you've quoted for!). I think that in terms of monthly price, in my experience, gyms don't reduce this, but what they can do is reduce things like the joining fee or throw in freebies like a free bag of gym guest passes depending on who you speak to and what they have (if anything) on offer.
Having said that, I'd always try bartering on price just in case something can be done. What have you got to lose but a little pride0
