I struggle with eye shadows as well. I've hit pan on a 4 set that I used most days but now find it difficult to get the shadow onto the brush from around the edges so I'm not using it anymore. Which is annoying because it'll never finish with this attitude!! Any advice?

I can think of 4 options:
    1) Keep on trying with brushes, maybe try a smaller one.
    2) Take the powder out and use it loose (assuming you have some way of storing it).
    3) Decide you've essentially finished with it and either bin it or pass it on to someone else.
    4) Leave it hanging around tormenting you!!! :p

    Anyone got any other ideas?

Thanks for your lists Noble Viking and mariposa. :)

RIGHT I've been through my stash. Found stuff I forgot I had! In some areas it feels like a lot and in others I'm like, ok that doesn't sound unreasonable....

    Hair
    Dry shampoo - 1
    Shampoo - 3
    Conditioner - 1
    Hair oil - 2
Hair styling products (mousse, heat protectant etc) - 4 (I know this used to be a lot more so that's an improvement)
    Hair spray - 2

    Skin
    Handcream - 3
    Footcream - 1
    Body moisturiser - 2
    Fake tan (body) - 3
    Body wash - 1

    Face
    Eye makeup remover - 2
    Spf for face - 2
    Moisturiser (face) - 2
    Face oil - 1
    Serum - 2
    Fake tan (face) - 3
    Face mask - 3
    Acid toner - 2
    Spot treatments/creams - 2
    Eye cream - 2
    Lipbalm - 3
    Face wash - 5

    Makeup
    Lip gloss - 15:o
    Lip stick - 17:o
    Lip liner - 5
    Concealer - 3
Liquid foundation - 4 (different coverage and colour)
Large eye palette (size wise rather than number of shadows) - 9
    Small eye palette - 2
    Cheek palette - 2
    Individual eyeshadow - 24:o
    Individual blush - 5
    Pencil eyeliner - 9
    Liquid eyeliner - 2
    Pressed powder - 1
    Loose powder - 2
    Pressed foundation - 1
Cream eye shadow (including stick) - 7
    Cream blush - 2
    Eyeshadow primer - 1
    Mascara - 1
    Brow products - 4
    Bronzer/contour - 3
    Face primer - 2
    Highlight (cream/powder) - 2

    Nails
    Nail polish remover - 3
    Coloured nail polish - 40 :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Perfume
Samples - 3 (I have more of these lying around but no idea where they are)
    Perfume - 8
    Body spray - 4

I might discover the odd product here and there to add to the total but that is a good approximation of my stash. The one I'm shocked about is my nail polish as although I'm obsessed with nails and nail art I have loads i don't use as I don't like the formula/colour anymore. Need to do another clear out I think!

I've tried 1, been doing 4 all along and think it's time to just go with 3. There's only so long I can keep it lying around when it no longer works!!

I don't have a great deal of makeup- my old school friend is a YouNique presenter and she often runs raffles for products at as little as 50p a time and I've won a couple so I've got stuff worth like 20-30 quid for 50p :D She's currently about to send me a lipgloss (I did buy that to be fair but that was an offer she ran so it was less than what it would retail for) some 3D lash mascara (I have some of this already and it's fab) and a pigment pot and clear lipgloss you mix together to make a colour- it's like a pinkish colour the one I've chosen.

Foundation- 1.5 (half a bottle of one that really needs chucking out)
    Concealer- 2
    Highlighter- 1
    Pressed powder- 1
    Powder brush- 1
    Eyeshadow- 2 singles, 1 palette
Mascara- 2 (not including the one that's on the way)
    Lipstick- 2
Lipgloss- 1 (again not counting the two that's on the way)
    Lipcote- 1
    Perfume- 7 bottles
    Body sprays- 7
    Shower gels- 8
    Deodorants- 3
    Moisturiser- 1 pot
    Cotton wool pads- 2 packs
Nail varnish- 1 bottle (I have no nails :D)
Bubble bath- 1 bottle plus a Lush bath fizzer thing
Shampoo- 2, 1 in my toiletry bag and 1 in the bathroom
    Wig Shampoo- 1
    Wig Conditioner- 3
    Hand cream- 5
Lip balm- 5. I have them everywhere as I'm always losing them!
    Factor 50 Suncream- 1
    Aftersun- 1
    Aqueous cream- 2 large pots
    Cocoa butter- 1 pot

  • Hi I am trying to build a simple routine which will eliminate excess items

    Shampoo x 2
    Conditioner x 2
    Styling spray x 1
    Hair oil x 1
Shower gel x 10 (buy when on offer)
    Body lotions x 4
    Foundation x 2
    Powder x 1
    Primer x 1
    Eyebrow defining pencil
Bronzer x 1 (used on holiday)
    Mascara x 2
    Lipstick / gloss x 4
    Eye shadow x 3 palettes
    Perfume x 4
    Body spray /deodorants x 6
    Foot salts x 1
    Foot cream x 3
    Hand cream x 4

I do not really use body creams, too sticky for use on the face.
Foot creams need to be used as they are just sitting in the cupboard.
