Butter Sauce Sachets

Farmfoods used to sell these frozen sachets in a box of 4. They look like the cod in butter or parsley sauce meals, but without the fish. Has anyone seen them (or similar) while out shopping? I know there are a multitude of butter sauce recipes available, but they are great for the freezer for a quick butter chicken dish.

I haven't seen these in our Farmfoods, but will have a look. They could be very handy to keep in the freezer.

You should definitely try them if you come across them, they're really delicious, you could also add some garlic for a delicious and quick version of dauphinoise potatoes. I actually bought them by accident when I was shopping in a rush, but continued to buy them as a freezer regular until they disappeared.

Not sure if those are the same as williacg was looking for, but I will definitely try some.

    Thank you,

You're an absolute treasure, they were exactly what I've been looking for. I've only ever tried the Farmfoods version, but I'm sure that these will be just as good.

    Thanks again,

Bad news I'm afraid, I've been in contact with Iceland Customer Service as I couldn't find them either on-line or in any of my local stores, they've just confirmed that they have discontinued them, as they were not selling. Oh well, I'll have to look for something similar.

Thats a shame. You would think they would remove them from the listing, wouldn't you?

I suppose the alternative is to make up a batch of the sauce and freeze into microwavable bags?

    Yes, so annoying.

I have made several unsuccessful attempts to recreate the recipe, however the end results varied between a Beurre Blanc or wallpaper paste (not that I've eaten wallpaper paste before). I've found a fairly simple recipe for a lemon butter sauce, and will try that over the weekend, making a few adjustments, and if successful will make a batch lot for the freezer.

    Have a good weekend.

Giovanni Rana do a butter sauce with sage for pasta which is lovely. It is expensive at £2 for a small 180g pot it is where the fresh pasta is . I only buy it when its on offer in Iceland and Asda usually for £1. Its on offer in Asda just now
