I was only sick for 3 days which is 24 hours worth of pay , cant see how that adds up to a miss pay of £500-700?
Thanks0 -

Holiday started the day of cut off day
People forget about the damn holiday it shouldnt matter as it affects this months pay not last months!0 -
Are you sure you aren't paid part in advance part in arrears?
We are, paid 18th of month but it covers that calendar month.
However, even if payroll have made an error, the warnings about your wholly implausible sickness and an uncomfortable return to work interview should be heeded. Jackanory isn't in it !0 -
I paid alot of money for that holiday and it wasnt a pleasure trip i wouldnt even call it a holiday it was a family matter, i was going on it no matter what , maybe it was nerves from flying im not sure but i was still sick while on holiday, and i have worked for 2 years just not for this company
.
Im still on my probation contract despite working 4 months over the probabiton peroid.
The deputy manager at the store also has a past of bullying and victimizing people and i believe he is the one whos targeted me over this matter aswell personally.
The holiday ive taken is not even in the question as my holiday started the day the payroll cut off day was set in place , but the company is using that as an excuse. My holiday should affect the end of this months pay not the past months pay
So no matter what, you were going on holiday.
Yet couldnt send a text just hours before?
you didnt notify your employer you were fit to attend work,so why wouldnt they assume you were sick?
Your holiday started on payroll cut off, however you were already down as sick so this absence continued.
Of course this will now mean a long absence with no sick line.0 -
You really don't get it! It doesn't matter when you get paid, this has nothing to do with pay day.
Sangie explained it very clearly. If you are ill when you are supposed to be off, sickness takes over holiday. This means that you get whatever pay you are entitled to when sick BUT you still get to keep your holiday.
Your problem is that you did not tell them that your sickness was over, so they had no reason to assume that you were suddenly better and able to go on your holiday. How could then know that since you couldn't be bothered to contact them?
Good luck convincing anyone that you were too ill on day 3 to be able to text anyone, even your girlfriend to ask her to call them, but well enough 24 hours later to get up, make it to the airport and get on a flight. You have to be incredibly poorly to not be able to pick up a phone, click on message and type a sentence.
The good news for you is that if you are planning on leaving the job, they will still owe you the holiday money (assuming you didn't take them in advance of entitlement), so that should be added to your final pay.0 -
i was going on it no matter what
Therein lies part of the problem.Im still on my probation contract despite working 4 months over the probabiton peroid.
Here is the other part, why has your probation been extended and why is it persisting?
Why do you believe your manager is targeting you personally?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Ok you had three days off sick - How long were you then away for? many employers would allow a person to self certify for one week and the. Require a doctors note for day 8 onwards....
If your leave has been cancelled are you going to be expected to produce a doctors fit / sick note?

Sorry, don't believe a word. Just sounds like an excuse to have a longer holiday that has backfired on you, hence complaining about it.
A now-former-colleague of mine got the boot last week, he did that 3 weeks after starting, and then again another 3 weeks later for a long bank holiday weekend, and then again after the bank holiday weekend - it's 3 sickness periods in a year where I work, for people that have been here over 2 years. This guy had 3 periods in 2 months.
I'd just be thankful to have a job at the end of it and you haven't been pulled up for not supplying a fit-note from your doctor.Professional Data Monkey

After i looked at my payslip i rung the HR department and they told me along the lines of "we cancelled your holiday" (my holiday started on the day of the months cut off day so shouldnt even have an effect on the end of months pay anyway) and didnt let me know, she also said that "working here for under 18 months you dont get SSP yet on my payslip i recieved £154 in SSP and a basic pay of £374 which is about 1/4 of what my regular pay is.
The women at HR said i have to do a return to work form and we will take it from there but this deduction of pay has put me in debt , overdraft and loans along with rent and phone bills etc.
I have 0 experience in things like this and would really like some help to what i can do and what my situation is i really need help, thank you in advance!Holiday started the day of cut off day

No need to get hissy - HR obviously felt the holiday / sick period WAS relevant to your drop in pay.
Why not clarify the figures with them rather than getting frustrated with everyone on here.:hello:0
