I am looking at using the help to buy equity loan to buy my first home... Does anyone know if through this scheme you can use any mortgage provider or are there specific ones?

It's specific I got mine thru the Halifax0

You have to buy a newbuild from a builder registered on the scheme and only lenders "contributing" to the scheme lend on such property.I am a mortgage broker.
