Just browsing the leaflet and saw they've got a dash cam for sale from tomorrow, seems a good deal at £29.99 plus 3 year warranty.

There's no mention in the specs as to how wide a view of the road you get. Ideally the camera should have a fisheye lens and pick up 160o+ view of the road, otherwise it'll be just looking into the distance down the road. Its also pretty big, so you'd need to remove it everytime you stop the car, the same as you would satnav - I bought this one which tucked neatly behind the rear-view mirror https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00VLYY04G0 -
I compare this to those on Amazon for about £12-£15, but at least you get a £5 SD card with it.
My daughter has one similar and it's OK but not fantastic, apparently the quality of the supposed 1080p is not that good (not bothered to test that on a TV), but good enough for evidence of a collision, if not the number plate of the car at a distance.
I agree there are better, but in this market, you really do get what you pay for, so it's all about affordability, and if this is your limit, then this is what you can get.I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!

You can get exactly the same cam for half the price in other places.0
