Ind Ltd chasing on behalf of Arrow Global

Hi,

Apologies if this has been dealt with multiple times by multiple people, I have tried reviewing old forum posts but to no real avail.

I have just received some inheritance which after paying off my last outstanding debt to Lowell I'm planning to use as a mortgage deposit. Still paying off Credit Cards and the default (which was paid to Lowell) will drop off my credit report next March (default date of 14/03/11). So finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel after getting in a financial mess in my 20s!

Today I've received a letter from IND Ltd with a settlement offer on behalf of Arrow Global Ltd offering me a 10% reduction on a debt of £6,300 if I pay in full by the start of June. I have no idea at all what this could relate to. I did get in a mess years back but thought everything was cleared now. My credit report shows no other past defaults and a search on TrustOnline reveals that there are no judgments against me.

Is this likely to be old statute barred debt? I assumed with them offering a discount they were just trying to get anything that can, otherwise surely they'd attempt the full amount?

Is it ill advised for me to call them and request further details, or should I go with the 'prove it' or even, 'prove it/statute barred' hybrid letter as it very likely is?

Any advice extremely welcome! Suns shining today but there's a very black cloud over my head!

    Hi,

Yes very ill advised, never ring these people, where debt is concerned, everything in writing is the way to go.

"Provit" letter first, then, dependant on what they send you, probably go with the SB defence.
